How Do ALTIUS Contact Lenses Work?
ALTIUS contact lenses use specific tints to selectively filter both the quantity and quality of light that reach your eyes.
These tints allow colors in the green, yellow, orange, and red parts of the visual spectrum to reach your eyes, while blocking much of the visible wavelength in the violet and blue parts of the spectrum.
By causing some violet and blue objects in the visual field to darken or even appear completely black, chromatic aberration is reduced and objects in the green-to-red wavelengths appear much brighter.

When we discuss visible light, think of a rainbow, from violet to blue, green, yellow, orange, and finally red.
Each individual color is visible to us based on its specific wavelength, with shorter wavelengths appearing more violet or blue, and longer wavelengths appearing more orange or red.
Unfiltered, some of the wavelengths that reach our eyes (especially in the violet-to-blue span of the spectrum) can cause what are known as “chromatic aberrations,” which reduce perceived contrast and can make some images look blurry.
Poor contrast vision can make it difficult to spot a baseball against a cloudy sky, while blurry vision can mean missing the game-winning 3-point shot.
